Red Ear Jeans are a perfect example of this- made with cotton sourced world wide on 1920s wooden shuttle looms in Japan, they contain all the characteristics of the brand within the garment.
They are hank-dyed- a process involving dipping cotton hanks in natural indigo up to 10 times in order to get a distinctly indigo blue colour.
They are selvedge jeans which traditionally have a red stripe on each side known in Japanese as ‘Akamimi’ or ‘Red Ear’.
The lengthy and difficult processes used to make each Red Ear denim are symbolic of the desire and commitment to make each product of the highest quality and individuality.
